Since Anime North is coming up super fast and I am staff there as OS kinda like security and also myself a cosplayer, I would like to point out a couple of important things. This is for everywhere.
- When taking pictures, always ask the cosplayer first, if they say no. Respect that.
- If the cosplayer is eating or something else leave them alone since there's a good chance they will say no but you can try later on when they look less busy.
- If a cosplayer is against the wall like taking off their mask or part of their costume, leave them be. They are ether taking a break or fixing something.
- If you are recording them, ask them and tell them. Also it's a good thing to tell them to make a couple of poses so they just don't stand there and wondering how long you will be filming them. It can make them uncomfortable.
- If you taking a picture/video of a child. Always ask permission to the parent to take a picture/video and ask me if it's alright to post it online. If you don't and post it online, you can get in trouble.
- Do not follow/harass them. Even in video. If they take a quick glance at you and keep walking, that means they don't want to be in it and be left alone.
- No weird angle shots that can make a cosplayer uncomfortable. If it happens that a photographer did that, please go see OS/Security so we can take care of it.
- Do not block hallways that are really busy while taking pictures like the hallway in the International Plaza at Anime North.
- Try to avoid to stop and take pictures there also. You will be told by staff to not do it since it's a high traffic area.
Try to follow the 6-2-1 rule: The convention hygiene guideline.
- 6 hours of sleep per night.
- 2 meals per day.
- 1 shower per day.
These numbers are lower limits and not intended as upper limits. The third part of the rule is to prevent con funk.
You can do a list to make sure you don't forget anything.
Just some general stuff. I can add a lot more but just wanted to make short and sweet
Also bring water especially if it's outside and really hot like Anime North and sunscreen.
And most important, be safe and have fun

It's been a while I havn't been here...
Like the title says, its been a long while and I miss deviantart. I have been checking messages though here. Honestly, I went though a lot of shit the past year. With house problems that me and my fiance had to live at my parents place for a long while. Big problems with the neighbour. Cost us over 10k in damages and also our mental health. Though I won't say what happened. I have been taking anxiety pills for the first time in my life. And a while ago, another neighbour filed a report against the other neighbour and I am pretty close to do it also. There is also already the police involved against them but with the pandemic, it doesn't help. I was supposed to vend at Furnal Equinox for the first time and I was super excited about it and then everything started to fall apart with the pandemic. Even my mental health got more down and did affect somewhat my plush making sadly and it made me very sad. About a month ago, I started to do more again and now more and more but not as much
Japan pick up pre-orders
I have decided to open up pre orders for certain items while I am in Japan. I still have a lot to add while I am there and I can give you a coupon to combine shipping if you want to buy more later on. Pokemon, Digimon, Disney, Sanrio and more.
You can also buy items that I have already in hand.
Everything will be shipped out beginning of November when I come back.

As a cosplayer too, I'm 100% agreed with your post. Respect is important in a convention.
